The preseason is the equivalent of a warm-up game for each team.

After the previous season, each team may make adjustments to its roster based on the previous season's games, including bringing in new players or replacing players they don't need.

The new lineups need a certain period to break in, and this preseason can be used as a break-in period for the team players to get to know each other better.

The coach will also plan the scheduling for the later games according to the situation of the players in the team so that everyone can get into shape faster and better.

In order to expand the NBA's global reach, about 1/3 of the preseason teams will travel to countries outside the United States to play.
