The skyscraper, also known as the super high-rise building, is a very high multi-story building. The skyscrapers are generally 10 or 20 floors at the beginning, but now they usually refer to 40 or 50 floors.

With the different development of high-rise buildings in various places, the definition height of the skyscrapers that people recognize is slightly different. In China, a height of more than 100 meters belongs to ultra-high-rise buildings. Japan and France stipulate that more than 60 meters belong to super high-rise buildings. In the United States, buildings of more than 500 feet are skyscrapers.

Due to the continuous development of cities in recent years, there is a higher demand for urban land use. Therefore, building more usable floor space per unit area becomes a new means.

And technical means have become more mature, especially the use of steel structures, which improves the load-bearing capacity of skyscrapers. Coupled with the invention of the elevator, the final obstacle was the removal of the skyscraper.

The skyscraper can be called the miracle of modern architecture. The rise of skyscrapers is a must for social development and a manifestation of the maturity of social technology. It relieves the tension of modern urban land and maximizes the use of resources. This also largely promotes the development of the city.

As we all know, Germany is one of the most developed countries in the world. The total GDP in Germany has always been at the forefront of the world. Germany's most praise is its developed manufacturing industry. There are currently many well-known brands in Germany, and the products they produce are sold around the world.

However, looking at the entire of Germany, there are not many high-rise buildings, and most of the buildings are relatively low. Even modern cities such as Hamburg, Berlin, and Frankfurt have rarely seen high-rise buildings on the street, most of which are below 10 floors. Among the 200 highest buildings in the world, no one is from Germany.

This is completely inconsistent with the status of its developed countries. Why doesn't Germany build a high-rise city like other developed countries?

There are two main reasons:

1. The development model of Germany.

The total population of Germany is less than 90 million, and the population density is 236 people per square kilometer. Most of the cities in Germany are small and medium-sized cities, and the essence of building houses is to meet people's living requirements.

If these buildings have fully met the needs of living, there is no need to build a high-rise building.

2. Early industrialization process.

The industrialization process in Germany has been relatively early, and many cities have taken shape very early. The buildings in these cities have strong humanistic colors and historical significance, so the Germans are reluctant to push these buildings down and build them again. They pay more attention to the retention of culture.

In the end, although there are not many high-rise buildings in Germany, Germany's living environment and working environment are still very good. There are not many high-rise buildings in Germany, but it does not prevent it from becoming a world power. This is better than those cities that like to build high-rise buildings but have severe pollution.
