The first step is to familiarize the parrot with your home environment. First keep them in the cage for a few days to a week or two to observe their status. Parrots may become motionless or bark when they arrive in a new environment. They are very timid in unfamiliar places, and will be taken aback by the slightest disturbance.

Pick a suitable cage. Cages are the home of parrots. When you first started raising parrots, you didn’t need to buy expensive cages, but you had to choose a larger cage. Parrots love to bite cages. When choosing a cage, choose a harder one. Do not buy bamboo or wooden cages, because bamboo or wooden cages are easy to be gnawed by parrots.

Make the parrot familiar with you. Feed them often in person these days, in smaller amounts at a time, it is important to interact with them. Make some noises, whistles, or call it by its name while feeding, and they will respond when they get used to calling it later. You can put the vegetable leaves in your hand and put them into the cage to feed them, and when they see you take something to eat, they will jump around in the cage and clamor for it.

Breeding parrots needs to pay attention to the density. Generally, there are two parrots in a cage, and it is required that these two are only one male and one female, otherwise there will be a phenomenon of same-sex fights. Breeding a budgie alone may make it relatively lonely.

Choose the right food. When feeding your parrot, you can choose from a variety of foods, such as corn kernels or rice grains. Parrots prefer to eat grains, so check the expiration date when purchasing to see if they are the freshest. If you want your parrot to grow well, you must pay attention to nutritional balance. You can buy vegetables and oily feed for it, and choose the right one according to its age and category.

About disease prevention. The parrot's cage should be cleaned frequently, the sink and food trough should also be cleaned frequently, the food and water should be changed frequently, and the cage should not be cleaned because of laziness. As long as it is in a clean environment, many diseases can be prevented. Don't put air conditioners on parrots at home. Most parrots generally like heat and fear cold. It's okay for them to be hot, but it's easy to catch a cold when it's cold, so keep warm in winter.

The parrot also needs to be released from the cage regularly and get more sunlight, which can make the parrot more energetic. Parrots that lack exercise are also prone to death because they are too fat. And at this time, you can also interact with them. The parrot will become familiar with you if you interact more. When you call its name, it will fall on your finger when you stretch out your finger, which is conducive to cultivating trust between you.
